Classically trained in London under Marco Pierre White (the 'Godfather of modern cooking'), Curtis Stone is the face of a new breed of Chefs. Curtis is a Chef first, but extends his reach as a TV presenter and author. The cooking/lifestyle program, 'Surfing the Menu', and reality/cooking show, 'Take Home Chef' (one of America's most popular), have made Curtis a household name in the Australia, the US and around the world.
The new website makes Curtis Stone's kitchenware available to Australians for the first time, but also caters to the US market, where the range has already made a significant mark. Get Started flexed its development muscles in the Kentico CMS so Curtis Stone's customers can make purchases in either US or AU dollars without converting to one primary currency.
The product catalogue, shopping cart steps and payment processing had to be smooth and simple for the client. This is a big concern when building an ecommerce site - each time you annoy a customer with a clunky or unnecessary step, you increase the chance that prospective customer will leave the site without making a purchase. Get Started's developers took the out-of-the-box Kentico product catalogue and shopping cart and customised for the products and market. The products are presented beautifully, and setup for easy input by Curtis Stone website staff. The shopping cart steps are quick and respond to likely user behaviours.
The simplicity of the site is possibly its greatest asset. Users can easily navigate the site and access products, FAQs and a photo gallery as well as Curtis' blog, schedule and recipes.
We are excited by this site and our partnership with Curtis (not to mention how quickly some of us jumped at the chance to buy our first Pick-Up scoops!).
