Doyles is one of Australia's most famous and acclaimed restaurants. For over 120 years (the Watsons Bay restaurant opened in 1885), Doyles have been serving Australia's best seafood. There are now four restaurants, situated in some of Sydney's most breathtaking locations.

Doyles first identified that a website would be integral to their marketing mix in the nineties (when their first website was developed). The website served its job well and was good for its time. The quaintness was particularly enjoyed by some of Doyles' American customers.

Despite this, Doyles felt the website didn't represent their brand effectively or its position as Australia's best restaurant. The design was outdated and Doyles were frustrated because they couldn't easily update the website. The navigation was often difficult to use (in particular, the lack of focus on the recipes) and the website also lacked some key content like the product range of Doyles merchandise.

So Doyles chose Get Started to give their web presence an overhaul. Collaborating closely with the client, Get Started redeveloped the website with a modern, professional web design and improved functionality.

The content on the website is now much more comprehensive, including details of each restaurant and local information. The recipes section is now a feature of the website; in addition to dramatically improved navigation, the recipes also include thorough descriptions of the seafood types.

Not only do Doyles love the fantastic look of the new site, they also love how easy their new website is to manage. It is completely content managed, meaning recipes, product ranges and general content can be updated by staff. Doyles can also send out email newsletters to communicate to loyal customers through their integrated mailing list system. The website also reduces administration because customers are able to make reservations online.

Future developments of the website are already underway, including online purchasing of merchandise.
