SAUGSAUG

SAUG launch website

The SAUG is a national organisation with Committee members volunteering their time from their full-time commitments at some of the largest organisations in Australia. SAUG allows users to share thoughts, information and knowledge about their implementation of SAP, the world's largest Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software, and third largest software company behind Microsoft and Oracle.

The start of the project included creating a new design for the web site using a brand new logo and brand strategy. Get Started worked with the SAUG graphic designer to ensure the look and feel of the site remained consistent with the new marketing material being designed. The powerful yet easy-to-use Get Started Content Management System (CMS) alllows various content stakeholders to ensure the site is current all the time. Special Interest Group (SIG) Editors ensure the SIG area is maintained, while the Committee and 2 Administrators have even greater access and change privileges over the site. Automatic workflow allows Administrators to be notified via email as soon as a content change has occurred and is requiring authorisation for promotion to production.

The Mailing List System allows the Committee to quickly and easily send branded communication to Members. Personalised tags can be inserted into the mail outs, so a person's first name or company for example, can be used. The Discussion Board is available to Members who has logged in and is proving to be a useful forum for exchange of ideas and experiences with the SAP software. An important aspect of the SAUG is the quarterly Plenaries, or conferences.

Members can register for these events online, to make Plenary administration a breeze for Administrators. With over 300 delegates regularly attending, this is saving SAUG a lot of time while increasing the level of customer service provided. The secure members area allows the SAUG to restrict access to some content and information, providing an additional level of value to the Membership.

Get Started continues to work with the Committee to make an Extranet available to them. This will include a Document Repository and Knowledge Repository, which make running a nationally disparate organisation a lot easier. Future functionality will include online payments for events and memberships and event & member management.
